Student involvement is an important aspect of CCTA 2025. Sponsorship money has been applied to reduce student registration.

Registered students are welcome to CCTA sessions, workshops, panels, and receptions.

Students without paid registration are welcome to attend the Special Sessions. Unfortunately, they would not be attending the dinner on Tuesday evening nor the regular sessions of CCTA2025.

Student Travel & Workshop Support

The Organizing Committee of CCTA 2025 is pleased to announce Student Travel & Workshop Support, made available by the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS).

The travel support funds are meant to enhance the chances of promising students to attend CCTA 2025, present their papers and become more integrated into the CSS scientific community. The limited amount of funds available are not reimbursed to the student awardees but are applied in advance by the conference organizers to cover lodging expenses. The student (or advisor) will be responsible for any other cost that is not covered, including conference registration.

The workshop support funds are meant to enhance the learning and career development of IEEE CSS Student Members. The funds will cover partial lodging expenses to facilitate workshop attendance. The student (or advisor) will be responsible for any other costs that are not covered. Workshop attendance is required. Note that workshops are held the day before the first day of the conference.

Application Procedure

There is a single application for both programs.

The application website opens on June 1, 2025 and closes on June 15, 2025.

Students must fill in the form available at this link. The form will open on June 1, 2025.

After completing the form, the responses from the completed form (sent via email) must be saved as a pdf and submitted to Paperplaza as a “Student support” submission under “Submit a contribution to CCTA 2025”.

The final step requires the advisor to submit a letter of support (please follow the details below).

Letter of support guidelines

A letter from each applicant’s advisor is required by June 15, 2025 to complete the application.

The letter must be sent by the advisor via institutional email to: ccta2025sts@gmail.com

The subject of the letter should be “CCTA25 student support letter”.

If the student applies for both the student workshop support and the student travel support, only one letter is required (but the letter should mention both programs).

The letter must certify that the applicant is currently enrolled as a student and is planning to attend and present at CCTA 2025. It should include a short message of support of the student's application (less than 10 lines). Please copy-paste the following template to prepare the letter.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for either program, an applicant must be a student member of both IEEE and CSS, at the time of the application. Note that CSS stands for the Control Systems Society and membership requires a relatively small extra cost in addition to the IEEE Membership.

Each applicant for travel support must:

  • be an author or co-author of (at least) one paper accepted for presentation at CCTA 2025
  • register at the conference (more details on registration deadlines will be provided with the award notification, please follow instructions therein)
  • present at least one of the accepted papers.

In case the number of applicants for travel support exceeds the budget, additional criteria will be used to select among the applicants. These additional criteria, in decreasing order of importance, prefer applicants who have not benefited from this scheme in the last two years, will present more than one paper at the conference, can demonstrate active participation in CSS, have been student members of the CSS since one, two, or more years.

In case the number of applicants for workshop support exceeds the budget, additional criteria will be used to select among the applicants. These additional criteria, in decreasing order of importance, prefer applicants who have not benefited from this scheme in the last two years, first-come, first-served.

In addition, for both programs, the selection committee may decide to limit awards where more than one presenter from the same institution would otherwise be offered an award to attend the same conference.
